Our environmental research answers biological, geological, paleontological, and archaeological questions by under-standing the geochemical constraints on the related scientific situation. One of our teams studied the combined effects of soil types and acid rain on Tagetes erecta, a plant with various commercial, agri-cultural, and medicinal uses. Using geo-chemically characterized soil and rain, this study provided key information for optim-izing Tagetes growth.
