Geochemical Analyses

Our environmental research applies standard geochemical analyses to geo-logical, paleontological, and archae-ological questions. We use neutron activation analysis (NAA) to characterize archaeologically or paleontologically associated sediment as a tool to under-stand paleoclimatic change. To under-stand how fossilization proceeds, we also conduct theoretical studies on the uptake of various major, minor, and trace elements, such as iron, man-ganese, and uranium.
